We have been talking so much about herbal teas this past week. It is only appropriate we discuss some easy herbal tea blends you can make at home.
I do not suggest getting tea bags (particularly plastic ones), as they are carcinogenic (cancer-causing) and may even be high in heavy metals.
I do suggest getting good quality loose tea blends though if you are too busy to make your own blend at home.
Different physical ailments also benefit from specific herbs. So if you are struggling with PCOS/ thyroid/ diabetes/ hypertension/ bloating/ acne etc, then read this article I wrote for specific herbal tea blends that might be best suited for you:
Here are a few generic recipes that I enjoy routinely.
Cinnamon- Apple Tea
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
1 apple, sliced
Brew everything together on a low flame for 5 to 10 minutes. A simple yet anti-oxidant rich blend.
Orange-Mint Tea
2 cups water
2 star anise pods
1 orange, washed and sliced
A handful of mint leaves
Brew everything together on a low flame for 5 to 10 minutes. A tangy and refreshing blend.
Chocolate Tea
3 cups water
1 tbsp black tea
2 tablespoon cacao nibs
1 tbsp dried jasmine flowers
This decadent cup of black tea is slightly higher in caffeine and a fantastic option for chocolate lovers! I have a batch prepared at all times on my office desk and reach out for this tea very often.
Trust this helps,
