If you have been following my newsletters, you know about the wellness challenge we have taken up for February 2023.
The second lifestyle change I want you to add to this week is to eat more Flaxseeds.
I had many consultations with new clients this week. The one common thing everyone shared, to my surprise, was constipation.
It is truly sad that most people consider NOT having 1-2 bowel movements per day as ‘normal’. It really is not. You should be able to empty your bowels once every 24 hours. There should be no reason to strain or spend hours on the toilet seat to empty your bowels.
If you are struggling with constipation though, do not take this lightly and work with an expert to get to the root of your problem.
Untreated constipation today is really a breeding ground for lifestyle diseases in the future.
Now, there could be multiple reasons for constipation, but one thing we could all do better with is adding more fiber to your diet. Sure, you could eat more raw vegetables and fruits, but who has the time for that ;) (I am being sarcastic here).
So let’s look at a quick fix here then--
Add 2-3 tbsp of groud flaxseed powder to your daily diet.
What is the challenge?
Include 2-3 tbsp of groud flaxseed powder to your daily diet.
Ideally, you must make fresh ground powder in the morning. But if you lack the time to do so, make a week’s worth batch and keep it in the fridge in an air- tight container.
You can blend the seeds into your smoothie, or sprinkle the powder to your curries/ daal’s, or add them to your roti aata or even make flaxseed laddoo’s!
Flaxseed’s have so many more benefits than just constipation management. But we will discuss them in the next newsletter. For now, just remember to add flaxseeds to your daily diet. From today onwards, for the rest of your life :)
If you are making a fun flaxseed recipe, tag me on Social Media and let me know!
Trust this helps,
